The interim government seems to have forgotten that it was born of a popular uprising, Senior Joint Convener of National Citizen Party Samantha Sharmin said on Thursday.
Speaking during a July March programme in Magura's Bhayna Mor, she said the interim government was talking more about elections than any reform issues.
"If they want to see themselves as a purely caretaker government, then it would be better for them to declare that formally," she said.
She also said that as an uprising government, they had some fundamental responsibilities, but instead of fulfilling those, they are speaking more about elections.
"What we expect are statements about justice and fundamental reforms, but we are not seeing that," she added.
Also present at the event were party chief Nahid Islam, Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patuari, Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara, Chief Organiser of the Northern Region Sarjis Alam, Chief Organiser of the Southern Region Hasnat Abdullah, along with other central leaders.
After the rally, they began to make their way towards Narail.
