Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 as deep convection continues to form over the North Bay due to active monsoon.
Under its influence, gusty or squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
Heavy rains likely in Chattogram, 3 other divisions
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday forecasted moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours commencing 9am.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a Met office bulletin.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
