The BAGCHAS-backed "Shikkharthi Oikya Forum" panel raised allegations of irregularities and vote rigging in the JUCSU elections.
The general secretary (GS) candidate of this panel, Abu Touhid Siam, made the allegations at a press conference at the university's Murad Chattar.
"We were not allowed to enter polling centres. We had to return from four different centres after being denied access. We only wanted to observe the situation inside.
"Despite the election commission permitting candidates to visit polling centres for five to seven minutes with prior approval, returning officers at several booths obstructed our entry," Siam added.
Criticising authorities for their inaction, he said that Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir candidates distributed leaflets in front of polling centres after voting began, which violated the election rules.
Meanwhile, he also accused the administration and the election commission of giving undue advantage to a particular organisation.
Expressing hope, he said that the students of Jahangirnagar University would thwart such conspiracies through their votes.
