There is no specific threat centring on August 5, said Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Wednesday.
Jahangir Alam came up with the assurance while talking to reporters at the Secretariat, a day after the Special Branch of the Police issued a notice over the possible deterioration of the law and order situation.

Authorities marked it as a particularly sensitive period, fearing sabotage by exiled fascist groups
About Special Branch's operation, the adviser said, "This is not a nationwide operation—it is being carried out by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Various initiatives have been undertaken at different times based on necessity. There is no security concern regarding August 5. If the Almighty Allah wills, everything will go smoothly."
Regarding on-arrival visa issues, the home adviser said, "On-arrival visas are not being cancelled. We are continuing to provide on-arrival visas to nationals of countries with which we have existing agreements. For countries without such agreements, we do not offer this facility."
