A video is being circulated on social media and being passed off as footage of the BAF training jet's crash into Milestone College in Dhaka's Diabari on Monday afternoon.
However, an investigation by Dhaka Stream revealed that the footage circulating is not the Milestone College crash, but actually an old video from May 9, 2024, when an aircraft crashed in Patenga, Chattogram.
In the 2024 incident, the plane caught fire immediately after taking off from Zahurul Haque Airbase in Chattogram.
Later, it broke into pieces and scattered in the Karnaphuli River behind the Chattogram Boat Club.
Dhaka Stream reviewed multiple news reports and videos published in mainstream media at that time.
But the footage is being published from multiple IDs and pages, which claim it to be of the tragic crash that has left at least 19 people dead.
