After local Pakistani media reported that Trump is expected to visit Islamabad in September this year, the country's foreign office spokesperson said that it is not aware of the US President's visit, reports Financial Express.
According to a report by Reuters, two local television channels reported Trump's visit to the South Asian country, citing people familiar with the matter.
Although the foreign office is not aware of Trump's visit, if it is on his cards, then it would be the first in two decades by a US President. The last US President to visit the United States was George W Bush visited Pakistan in 2006.
The TV reports also claimed that Trump would visit India as well after Pakistan.
US-Pakistan relations saw a major boost when Trump hosted Pakistan's army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at the White House last month in an unprecedented meeting.
He was invited to the White House over lunch, and an itinerary for the same went viral. According to the itinerary, Trump had lunch with the Pakistani General at 1 PM in the Cabinet Room.
Balochistan's vast reserves of critical minerals were reportedly on the table during lunch. Washington also showed interest in the region's strategic wealth, especially its deposits of rare earths, copper, lithium, and other minerals central to future energy and defence technologies.
The critical minerals deal was discussed in Pakistan's National Assembly, where a lawmaker said that Asim Munir had gone to Washington to strike a deal with Trump on Balochistan's rare-earth minerals. Munir's US visit was marred by protests from overseas Pakistanis and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Demonstrators gathered outside his hotel and chanted slogans like "Shame on you, mass murderer" and "Shame on you, dictator", videos of which are all over social media.
