Bangladesh and the United States came to an agreement on some more issues on the third and final day of the second round of trade talks held in Washington, DC, on Friday, reports BSS.
However, some other issues remain unresolved. Both sides have decided to continue inter-ministerial exchange as representatives of both countries will sit in discussion again.
The talks can be held virtually and in person. It is expected that the time and date of the talks will be decided very soon, according to a statement from the Chief Adviser's (CA) office.
The Bangladesh Commerce Adviser, the Commerce Secretary and the Additional Secretary will return home on Saturday. They will visit Washington, DC, again if necessary.
In the wake of the three-day talks, Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin and National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman are optimistic that a positive outcome can be reached within the stipulated timeframe.
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin led the Bangladesh delegation in Washington, DC.
National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on ICT and Telecommunications Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb joined the talks virtually from Dhaka.
Senior government officials and experts also joined the talks virtually.
The three-day discussion was coordinated by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC.
