Commuters and transport workers faced severe suffering early Sunday after a container trailer overturned, causing a 15-kilometre tailback on the Cumilla-Sylhet regional highway.
Mirpur Highway Police Outpost In-Charge Parvez Ali said that the accident occurred at Debidwar around 6:30am when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle
He said that police rushed to the scene and removed the container trailer after getting the information.
The vehicular movement resumed around 10:30am.
Witnesses said it took hours to lift the container, during which the traffic congestion worsened, stretching up to 15 kilometres.
The situation gradually returned to normal after four hours of disruption, they said.
