The Milestone School and College campus in Uttara's Diabari was built on a flight path's approach line, the Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) said on Saturday, urging that it be relocated as it may not even have Rajuk approval.
Speaking a press conference, Adil Mohammad Khan, chairperson, BIP, said, "We should investigate the whole situation. All kinds of assembly buildings, schools, colleges, public places where mass people use to gather, mosques, madrasas, that are in vulnerable zone as well, need to be shifted as well."
Citing an investigation of the BIP, he said the campus of Milestone School and College was situated near to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Flights of several airlines fly over the school campus as it is a part of the approach-line of aviation territory.
Therefore, the flights use to take off through the zone where the jet craft of RAF crashed on 21 July.
Additionally, he said the two storeyed building which the aircraft hit, probably didn't have any approval of RAJUK (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakha)
Before approval, Rajuk checks whether the building complies with BNBC and Imarat-Nirman Bidhimal.
Earlier on Thursday, the Dhaka Stream reported that the Milestone College campus fell square on the flight path. The school is located 2km away from the main airport, the report said.
Till now, the death toll from this horrific incident has risen to 35.
Currently, 38 burn victims of the crash are undergoing treatment at the burn institute.
Among them, three are in critical condition and are being treated in the ICU of the facility.
