The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has reduced the price of gold by Tk 3,452 per bhori, effective from Friday, reports UNB.
According to a Bajus press release issued on Thursday, the new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 165,734 per bhori (11.664 grams), down from Tk 169,186.
The association said the price cut comes in response to a fall in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market. Bajus stated that the new rates were set after considering the overall market situation.
Under the revised pricing, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 158,199 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 135,606 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 112,033 per bhori.
On Thursday, the prices stood at Tk 161,499 for 21-carat, Tk 138,428 for 18-carat, and Tk 114,435 for traditional gold.
Despite the decline in gold prices, the price of silver remains unchanged.
