Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday congratulated all those involved in the launch of Starlink in Bangladesh, reports BSS.
Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder stated this in a post from his verified Facebook account this morning.
In a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account, Starlink confirmed its launch in Bangladesh, saying: "Starlink's high-speed, low-latency internet is now available in Bangladesh!"
Starlink initially announced two packages — Starlink Residential and Residential Lite — priced at Tk 6,000 and Tk 4,200 per month respectively.
There will be a one-time cost of Tk 47,000 for setup equipment. However, there are no speed or data limits, Azad said, adding that users can enjoy unlimited data at speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
The deputy press secretary noted that customers in Bangladesh can order the Starlink service starting today.
He said this fulfils the expectation of launching Starlink in Bangladesh within 90 days.
Although the cost of the Starlink service is high, Azad said it offers a sustainable alternative for premium customers seeking high-quality, high-speed internet access.
He added that companies can now expand their operations into areas where fiber-optic or other high-speed internet services are not yet available.
Azad further noted that NGOs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs will now have access to uninterrupted, high-speed internet throughout the year.
