India's tour of Bangladesh has been rescheduled to September 2026, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said in a press release on Saturday.
"The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have mutually agreed to defer the white-ball series, three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, between Bangladesh and India in August 2025 to September 2026."
This decision has been reached following discussions between the two Boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams, the release added.
India were supposed to arrive in Dhaka on August 13 to play three ODIs and three T20Is.
On Friday, some Indian media outlets reported that the tour would be postponed due to "security concerns" following the ouster of the Awami League government by a mass uprising last August.
Outlook India in a report published on its website said a BCCI source official told PTI, "Apparently BCCI is wary about the security situation in Bangladesh post the civil unrest."
