Bangladesh Army on Thursday said the interim government has not instructed it to perform duties at the central Students' Union elections in universities.
There is no possibility of the Army's involvement in the duties, reads an ISPR press release.
The response comes after various media reported that university authorities requested for Army's presence at the universities' central student union polls, which has come to the attention of the Army.
Bangladesh Army believes that with the direct cooperation of law enforcement agencies and under the overall supervision of the university administration, the upcoming central student council elections will be conducted in a peaceful and festive environment, the release adds.
