Questioning why experts are being brought in from abroad and given various responsibilities, Fahmida Khatun, executive director of the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD), said that it appears half of the advisors have joined the interim government "to do internships".
"We have so many experts in our country. But half of the advisors, they don't have any experience here. It seems like they are coming here for an internship," she said at an event on Thursday.
"An advisor has been brought in from outside the country to work on LDC graduation. Why would the government need someone who has no roots in this country, who has no experience with the challenges existing in the country's economy?
"We don't need people who want to learn by doing," she said. "It's unacceptable that they have to be paid with public tax money."
