The National Citizen Party on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to the party's five leaders over their visit to Cox's Bazar during the programme to mark the first anniversary of the July Uprising on 5 August.
The five leaders are: Hasnat Abdullah, Sarjis Alam, Tasnim Jara, Khaled Saifullah, and Nasiruddin Patwary.

Explaining the absence of the four party leaders from the programmes centring “July 36”, party’s Senior Joint Member Secretary Mushfiq Us Salehin said some of the leaders had not been invited due to the state’s “mismanagement”
The party's Joint General Secretary (Office) Saleh Uddin Sifat issued notices asking them to show cause within 24 hours.
The showcase notices were confirmed by the party's verified Facebook page.
"On August 5, the first anniversary of the coup and a nationally important day, you went on a personal trip to Cox's Bazar. No information or explanation regarding this trip was previously communicated to the Political Council," reads the separate notices given to the five NCP leaders.
It further stated, "In this situation, you are hereby instructed and requested to appear in person within the next 24 hours before Convenor Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain to provide a written explanation regarding the reasons and background of your decision."
Earlier, on Tuesday at 11:25am, these central leaders of the NCP arrived in Cox's Bazar from Dhaka on a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (Flight No: BG-433).
The notices state that no information or explanation was given to the "political council" about the visit in advance.
