The government has sent nine police inspectors into retirement upon completion of 25 years of service.
A notification signed by Nasimul Gani, senior secretary of the Home Ministry, on Monday said that they have been sent into compulsory retirement in public interest and will receive retirement benefits as per government rules.
The officers are KM Azizul Islam of Armed Police Battalion-14, Abdur Rashid of CID headquarters, Dhaka; Jamal Uddin Mir of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Akbar Ali Khan of Sardah Police, Rajshahi; Sirajul Haque Sheikh of in-service training centre in Gaibandha, Mir Zahedul Haque Roni of Mass Rapid Transit Police, Asikuzzaman of Armed Police Battalion-5, Azizur Rahman of Chakaria Circle Office in Cox's Bazar, and Aslam Hossain of the in-service training centre in Jhenaidah.
Earlier, on 28 July, four senior police officials were sent into compulsory retirement. They are DIG Atika Islam of Dhaka range; DIG Mahbub Alam of railway Police, Dhaka; DIG Monir Hossain of industrial Police, and DIG AKM Nahidul Islam of Police telecom, Dhaka.
