Pakistan's newly appointed High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, met with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday morning.
The meeting took place around 10:30am at the BNP chairperson's office in Gulshan, according to BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.
While no official statement was released by either party, BNP sources indicated that the meeting was a courtesy visit, where issues of mutual interest between the two countries were discussed.
Imran Haider, a career diplomat, had presented his credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin on August 17. Prior to his appointment in Bangladesh, Haider served as Pakistan's Ambassador to Myanmar and had also held the position of Ambassador to Tajikistan.
