At least four people were killed when a lorry overturned and crushed a private car on the Dhaka–Chattogram highway near Cumilla's Paduar Bazar area on Friday.
Talha Bin Zashim, station officer of the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the Chattogram-bound lorry turned upside down and crushed the Dhaka-bound private car near an under-construction U-loop area on the highway around 12:45pm.
The accident left four people dead on the spot, he said, adding that the deceased were passengers of the private car.
Two firefighting units from Chouyabazar fire station rushed to the spot to carry out the rescue operation, he said.
