All posts held by Upazila BNP President Sahab Uddin have been suspended centring the incident of stone looting at the Sada Pathar tourist area in Sylhet's Companiganj upazila.
This information was given in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday night.
The release said that posts of Sahab Uddin were suspended based on clear allegations of his involvement in unethical activities that go against the principles and ideals of the BNP, including extortion, encroachment.

Companiganj Upazila BNP Vice President Haji Abdul Mannan has been given the responsibility of acting president in place of Sahab Uddin, the release added.
This decision will remain in effect until further orders.
Since the political change on August 5 last year, looting started at Sada Pathar, like other stone quarries in Sylhet. Allegations of BNP leaders' involvement in the looting have been raised.
A video of the extent of the looting went viral on social media on Monday, provoking a firestorm of criticism.
