The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has dismissed six officials, including five engineers from the Public Works Department and one architect from the Department of Architecture, for being absent from their workplace without prior approval.
The Ministry of Housing and Public Works issued a press release regarding this decision on Wednesday.
The dismissed individuals: Moniruzzaman Moni, Sub-Divisional Engineer (Civil), (Reserve), Public Works Department, Dhaka; Abdullah Al Mamun, Sub-Divisional Engineer (E/M), (Current Duty), (Reserve), Public Works Department, Dhaka; Rahanuma Tajnin, Sub-Divisional Engineer (Civil), (Current Duty), (Reserve), Public Works Department, Dhaka; Farhana Ahmed, Executive Engineer (E/M) (Current Duty), (Reserve), Public Works Department, Dhaka; Mofizul Islam, Assistant Engineer (Civil), (Reserve), Public Works Department, Dhaka; Shiraji Tarikul Islam, Assistant Architect, Department of Architecture, Dhaka.
The officials were found guilty in departmental proceedings based on investigations regarding their unauthorised absence from work and charges of 'misconduct' and 'absconding.'
Following due procedures, and upon receiving the opinion of the Public Service Commission and the approval of the Honourable President, the Ministry of Housing and Public Works dismissed them through an order signed by Secretary Md Nazrul Islam.
