A court on Thursday showed Salman F Rahman, the former private industry and investment affairs adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, arrested in four separate cases filed by the ACC over alleged embezzlement through banking irregularities.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the four cases this year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court passed the order as the police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show him arrested in the cases. Salman was later sent back to jail.
Salman F Rahman was arrested on 13 August 2024, while attempting to flee via waterways, and was remanded in multiple cases during the anti-discrimination student movement.
