The Meteorological Department has asked the seaports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, Matarari and Payra to display cautionary signal no-3, as a deep convection forms over the Bay of Bengal amid gusty winds.
The forecast says that due to the influence of monsoon winds, tracing the axis of monsoon trough from West Bengal all the way to Rajasthan, convective cloud formation continues in the north of the Bay.
The Met office asked fishing boats in the Bay to approach the coast with caution until further notice.
The Storm Warning Centre of the Met office issued a notice on Saturday, forecasting the weather transition for the next five days, predicting light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds likely to occur throughout the country.
