François Valerian, the chair of the International Board of Directors of Transparency International (TI) will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday for a three-day visit.
This is his first visit to Bangladesh since being elected the chair of the board of TI Board in 2023, a global movement working in over 100 countries, including Bangladesh, to end the scourge of corruption. Valerian is visiting as a guest of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
The main purpose of the visit is to exchange experiences on preventing corruption and establishing good governance at global and national levels, and to get an understanding of TIB's activities, opportunities and challenges.
During the three-day visit, he will meet TIB staff, presidents of the 45 volunteer-based Committees of Concerned Citizens (CCC) established across the country by TIB, and leaders of 65 Youth Engagement and Support (YES) platforms. In addition, he will engage with relevant stakeholders from government and non-government sectors, members of civil society, and media professionals.
