Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus stated that a particular group is intent on obstructing the election process and urged the citizens to stay vigilant to prevent them from creating any opportunity to incite conflict during the elections.
"As you all know, a group is looking to disrupt the elections. They are orchestrating various disruptive activities from outside and within the country to hinder the nation's democratic progress," said the chief adviser while addressing the nation in a televised speech on Tuesday night.
Warning the nation, he said, "We must remain vigilant to ensure they do not get any opportunity to turn the election into a conflict. Remember, the defeated forces will try repeatedly to rise until the election is held.
"But if we can successfully conduct a free, fair, and impartial election, the defeat of those destructive forces will be final."
