The Election Commission (EC) has decided to publish the draft list of polling centres for the upcoming 13th national polls on 10 September.
The information was confirmed by a letter issued under the signature of EC Deputy Secretary Mahbub Alam Shah on Wednesday.
According to the letter, the Commission has approved the polling centre establishment and management policy for the next national election, which was earlier published in an additional issue of the Bangladesh Gazette on June 26.
As per Article 8 (1) and (2) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972, the EC is required to preserve and publish the list of polling stations at least 25 days before its finalisation through an additional gazette notification.
For the 13th parliamentary polls, the Commission has decided to publish the draft polling station list area-wise, inviting claims and objections, and settle those issues in line with the approved policy.
According to the schedule, the Draft list will be published on September 10, and the deadline for claims or objections is September 25. The issues will be settled by October 12, and the final list will be published on October 20.
