Despite several rounds of discussion on the caretaker government, the political parties failed to reach a consensus on Tuesday under the ranked-choice method.
"Although there have been several rounds of discussions about the caretaker government system, the parties have failed to reach a consensus due to disagreements over the ranked-choice method," said Commission Co-chair Ali Riaz while speaking to reporters after concluding the discussions at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday.
"While nearly three-quarters of participating parties or alliances have agreed to the Commission's revised consolidated proposal today, several political groups and alliances, including the BNP, opposed it. Therefore, the Commission will make the final decision on this matter," he added.
