Three construction workers died after the roof of an old building collapsed on them in the Nagora area of Netrokona town on Thursday.
The workers were demolishing an old building of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) by the Netrokona-Mymensingh highway when the roof collapsed at around 4:30pm.
The deceased are Hannan Mia, 38, Salam Mia, 40, and Dipu Mia, 39, according to Kazi Shahnewaz, officer-in-charge (OC) of Netrokona Sadar Model Police Station.
Two other workers were seriously injured in the incident.
The injured, Hasan Mia, 38, and Saiful Islam, 35, have been admitted to Netrokona Sadar Hospital.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and rescued the trapped workers, the OC said.
